How long will our Video be?
Civil ceremony videos are usually 50 - 90 minutes long and church ceremony videos are usually 90 - 120 minutes long but a lot depends on how many guests there are and what entertainment is arranged.
What time will you film until?
We don’t have a set end time but we normally find we have captured all we need between 9pm & 10pm. If you are arranging anything special in the evening, such as fireworks, then please let us know in advance.
If we need more than 5 DVD’s can we order additional copies?
Yes we are happy to supply additional copies with the high quality plastic cases at £25 each.
The venue has asked us to supply insurance details, PAT test certificates and Risk Assessments from all our 3rd Party Suppliers, can you provide this?
Yes we can supply all necessary paperwork. We have £5 million of Public Liability Insurance and have been trained by the BBC to provide Risk Assessments for filming. Our normal Cameraman has a BBC Production Skills (Health & Safety) Passport and an Enhanced Disclosure CRB Certificate. We normally use all low voltage battery powered equipment for filming weddings so PAT testing is not applicable for our wedding services.
Our Church has asked for a copy of the MCPS Copyright Licence can you supply one?
Yes, once you have paid the booking fee we will purchase all necessary Copyright Licences (to comply with copyright laws) and we can then supply a copy of the MCPS Licence to the church, if they require one.
Who will film our wedding?
Oliver Smith will film your wedding unless there are exceptional circumstances like illness. In the unlikely event that Oliver can’t attend then we know cameramen who are fellow IOV members and have many years experience who can assist us.
How can we pay you?
We can accept bank transfers (please ask for our account details) or payment by cheque made payable to Performance Services. We can arrange other payment methods, if required, but we may have to make an additional charge for any processing fees we incur.
Do we need to pay a booking fee?
Yes a non-refundable booking fee of £150 will secure us for your special day with the balance to be paid (cleared funds) by 10 days before the ceremony.
How long will we have to wait for our DVD?
We aim to supply the initial edit of your DVD for approval in about 3 - 4 weeks. We will always do things as quickly as we can but we would rather get the edit right, than rush to meet a deadline. Editing your video will require at least 30 hours work with additional time for rendering.
Do we need to supply food & drink for your cameraman?
We would appreciate it if drinks can be provided to our cameraman during the day and a meal provided during the wedding breakfast so our cameraman does not have to leave the venue at any time. If this is not possible then please inform us in advance so we can work out alternative arrangements for food & drink.
What happens if it rains?
We will always film as much of your day as possible but video camera’s like most electrical equipment don’t work well when they get wet so outdoor filming will be limited.
Do we need to pay a video fee to the church?
Yes, churches will usually charge a fee for allowing you to have your wedding service filmed. Individual churches are allowed to set their own fee so they can vary significantly. We have seen fees as low as £15 and as high as £200 so please check with the church when you are arranging the wedding (you will be responsible for paying this fee to the church and we won’t be allowed to film if it hasn’t been paid).
Can we choose where you film from during the ceremony?
Sometimes but we will be restricted by a number of factors including physical space and not filming the register in a civil ceremony. In most churches we will be severely restricted by the priest on where we can place the video camera and we usually film from the back. This is generally more acceptable to the priest and gives a clear view of the exchanging of rings.
Are you a member of the Institute or Videography (IOV)?
Yes we are an Associate member of the Institute Of Videography and we use IOV approved contracts which provide access to their free Arbitration Service.
